There is no shortage of tourism attractions in the Bay Area. For those of you looking for adventure, just remember -- the Bay Area has different climates, so bring comfortable shoes and a sweater (or you might just leave wearing one of the generic San Francisco ones).
Less than 45 minutes away:

San Francisco - the windy, foggy city. Hearst Castle - a beautiful estate with over 150 rooms and acres upon acres of gardens, terraces, pools furnished w/ Antiques.... if you're into that type of thing.Lake Tahoe - awesome for it's skiing, but just as good during the summer months for outdoor adventures
Yosemite - hiking, climbing, camping... what is there to say -- out-doorman's heaven
